GOAL
The goal of this project was to create signage and posters for Urban Question game in order to guide the participants of the game, in a way that helps them easily recognise the Urban Question signs around a city easily.
MY ROLE
This was my individual work based on a project I created during Erasmus exchange programme in Minerva Academy of Pop Culture (Leeuwarden, Netherlands)
Urban Question is an exciting game where participants run around the city and search for signs which give them clues where to find the next sign. All signs incorporate QR codes which need to be scanned to get next clue. During the game participants gather points and when the time runs out the winner is found out. The checkpoints are random and not numbered.
The main identity of the game is the logo supplemented with a QR code. They combine wayfinding and informing functions. Another style-forming element is the bright purple colour incorporated in all visual elements (signs and poster) which makes thems easily recognisable in a city environment. Bright purple colour has the strongest electromagnetic wavelength, being just a few wavelengths up from x-rays and gamma rays which makes the colour easily recognisable. It also is associated with power, ambition and imagination. During the signage design process I took in concideration different principles of signage design.
